A mother holding her newborn skin to skin

Alice Wedel · Breastfeeding support

Every family’s feeding story is different. I’d love to be part of yours.

I’m Alice, a mother of two and a breastfeeding consultant. Here is how I can be there, from before your baby arrives to the very last feed.

Chapter 1

Before your baby arrives

You have packed the hospital bag twice. You have read the books and listened to everyone’s advice. And still there is one question no one can answer for you: how will feeding go for us?

Chapter 2

The first days

Then your baby is here. Small, warm and new. You hold them skin to skin, and in the blur of the first days you slowly learn each other.

He has been feeding every hour tonight and I’m so tired. Am I doing something wrong?

You · 02:14

The next morning

Good morning. You’re not doing anything wrong; nights like that are very common in the first weeks. Shall I come by and we look at a feed together?

Alice · 07:40

Yes please. Thank you.

Chapter 3

The night it feels hard

And then there is a night. Maybe the third, maybe the tenth. The house is quiet, your baby wants to feed again, and you wonder if you are doing it right. Almost every mother has a night like this.

Chapter 4

From your own sofa

You stay where you are most at ease and feed the way you always do, while I watch and listen. We talk, we try small changes, and when we finish you have a plan in your own words, and my number.

Chapter 5

Finding your rhythm

Little by little, you and your baby find your rhythm. Some days are easy and some are not, and that is all right. I stay a message away while you find yours.

Chapter 6

Every chapter after

Going back to work, pumping, starting solids, and one day, the last feed. Whatever comes next, I would love to be there for it.

Why I do this

I was that mother at three in the morning. With my first baby, feeding was hard, and I often felt alone with it. With my second, a calm, kind consultant sat beside me for one afternoon, and everything felt different.

That afternoon is why I trained as a [certification, exactly as issued]. I listen first, I never judge how you feed, and if something needs a doctor, I tell you.

Kind words

Before the birth I was so nervous. After our talk I actually felt ready.
Anna, mother of Theo
Just wanted to say thank you. He fed three times today without tears, and I didn’t cry either.
Eleni, mother of Andreas
We slept four hours in a row last night. Four! Thank you for being so patient with us.
Lena, mother of Jonas
Thank you for never once making me feel judged. It changed everything for us.
Hannah, mother of Mia
Your plan is still on our fridge. Back at work on Monday and still feeding. I never thought I’d say that.
Sofia, mother of Nefeli
Leo turned one this week, and we’re still feeding. Thank you for every message along the way.
Katerina, mother of Leo

Whatever chapter you’re in, you can write to me.

A few lines are enough. I read every message myself and reply as soon as I can. If you are worried about your baby’s health right now, call your doctor first.
